looking it up i think its a plum possibly Bluebyrd plum

Could be a cherry plum of some sort. You'll know by cutting the fruit open and having a look; that'll be easier (and tastier) when its ripe.

Thanks cab, I found the site the other day and thought i'd go back once they were ripe as long as their edible

yep i hope it is a "wild" cherry plum - they make the best plum gin
