Injector Pump compatibility

Does anyone here know, or know where I can find out which injector pumps will work with which engines?
gz

Needs to be a lot more specific, but essentially if you want it to fit, it will (in most cases!!)
Right, The Oily One is asking...what vehicle? Cool

Peugeot 205 XLD

It is most frustrating: I can probably get a whole car for less than I can get a pump for. Confused

Age? Am speaking to a Peugot servicer in under an hour.

Oily One out on his MTB, will get an answer asap.
He might know where there is one Cool

That would be great.
I've had a look on eBay, and there is no end of ones that might work. Confused

Sorry, I missed this. Guess I am too late.
Pretty sure they had the same basic engine through their whole production, but mine is on a "H"... What's that: 1990?

So+so isn't back yet...just hope he hasn't fallen off (although no news is probably good news)
Will ask as soon as I can. He likes 205s Smile

1. depends what is actually wrong with it.

2. 1.8 engine was used in 405s, 305?, BX ,poss C15 van and 309s

3. the pump off a turbo version *will* fit, but needs the different turbo injectors as well, so basically don't go there unless you have to......

all depends on the answer to Q no. 1

I believe the shaft has snapped. From running on cooking oil in cold weather. Embarassed

How does that affect what replacement pump to use? Confused
gz

he wondered if it was mendable gz

Right, more explanation....the reason it has done that, is because it is a Lucas pump, and they only fitted Lucas to the 1.8 engine.

The 1.9s have Bosch OR Lucas, but you should only use Bosch with cooking oil. The seals go on the Lucas ones.

You could *possibly* fit one from a 1.9 but he wouldn't guarantee how it would behave.

He is researching a bit now for you, but you need to find a diesel specialist in your area. (ie not necessarily someone who will cost you the proverbial /expectyou to buy new)
He is looking on the fora too, so where you are- or where the car is? might be a help too Very Happy

If I find one cheap enough, then I'm game to give it a go and find out.

The car is in Sheffield,
I'm in Leeds at the moment, but I've got various plans to be all over the place in the not very distant future...
Thanks for the help.

Are`nt there any Car Dismantlers your way?

Or do you have the equivalent of the Free Ad Trader?

I bought a Golf Diesel 1900,and after 4mths the Box toys-Brain-Management box,went,
For 100,i bought a Mot failure,a year older, before these Management box`s were fitted,so swapped the fuel pump,

Otherwise ,new cost would have worth more than car.

See my second post: I can probably pick up a car for what the breakers would likely charge.

New!? What do you take me for? Confused
Ty Gwyn

It was My car i was talking about,
If i needed changing the Brain box,i`d need, steering lock and keys to match, also door locks.

So i am saying the same as you.

Get another Whole car for spares.

If you know anyone needing spares for a 1995 Fiesta 1.1 petrol Asura, complete car, good engine, lots of new parts year before, needs to much welding to use again.

No, he's a friend and neighbour, so available whenever. However, you seem to have a full answer. Next time, maybe.

Not entirely full.
If he has any insight on fitting the Bosch pump of the 1.9 on the 1.8 engine, that could be helpful...

You on Facebook, HL? I'll introduce you.

Reckons it'll fit, but the 1.8 has a lot more electronics, so may be issues. This is being done by answer phone messages, so excuse the incomplete answers. Smile

Yes, but they reckoned "Hairyloon" was not my real name, so I had to make one up. Confused

Electronics!? Are you sure we're on the same car?
This is not an urgent mission, so wait 'till you can have a proper chat if it's easier.
