Introduce YourselfHi, we're Linden and Chris and we have an allotment in East Manchester. We started out here as allotment newbies in 2003 with one half of a weed-ridden plot. Since then we got the other half of it and have battled hard to make it productive but it still gets weed-ridden from time to time because we both have full-time jobs and can't do as much as we should all the time. (Plus the weeds blow in from some of the surrounding allotments). We had a moderately successful season this year and have got much more into jam and chutney making, freezing, etc. We found this site while looking for a good recipe for tomato sauce and there are so many useful ideas on it we thought we would join. Hopefully we will be able to contribute usefully to the forums ourselves as well.

Hi Chris and Linden. We started our plot about the same time as you then. I know what you mean about not always getting the time to get up there. We've learnt to cut ourselves some slack in terms of expecting it to be a bit weedy for the 1st few years how ever hard we work at it.
