Introducing hens to new coopI have made a new hen house giving the birds more space in preparation for getting a few more. We have tried to introduce the hens to it and they will go in but not stay there. We closed up the old one and they just ended up wandering around looking miserable (not sure how they did that but thety did). We are thinking of getting them when they are asleep and popping them into the new one so that they will spend the night in there...will this be the way to go or is there some clever little way of doing it? We will need to have the old one cleaned and ready for the new hens to keep them segregated for a few days..Again is that the right thing to do?
We have got their food and water in the new one and they know about it but makes no difference.

That's what I'd do. They're so thick they'll wake up thinking they've always been in that one.

It might take two or three nights.

Your birds must be brighter than mine, Tavascarow!
