It's a bit black over Bill's mother's

Spot of flashing and banging outside too.

When is summer due to start? Confused
A.
Fee

Tis lovely here in Anglesey, BBQ tonight Wink
Chez

It's gone, I reckon. We drove down to look at a house near Clee St Margaret this morning, all down past the Long Mynd, round there - trees already turning.

Fingers crossed for an Indian summer.

You big wuss. Get your waterproofs out and get out there! Laughing
Barefoot Andrew

In fact it seems to be lashing it down. Seems like a good point to go and pour another glass of crisp & fruity, and make some pastry.

Isn't that something to do with the alligators, though?
Shane

Hail storm at ours last night. I was playing touch rugby at the time, and couldn't see more that about 10 feet at one point.

Not ideal rugby weather, it has to be said Laughing

I pity the poor person who has to wash the kit!
sally_in_wales

oh 'eck, just got into my gallery at work to find water pouring up through the sinks and all over the floor. Its bound to be busy today too with this weather, and I have a soggy floor and sinks doing an impression from a horror movie to deal with. Going to be one of those days I suspect... Rolling Eyes
Mrs Fiddlesticks

I was at the Proms last night, and at round about 7.30 the sound of the rain lashing down on the roof of the Albert Hall reminded me of being in a caravan.

We had the grandfather of all storms last night Surprised The power went off for two hours. I took the precaution of pulling the plugs when it started as I don't want another frazzled modem!

It was certainly spectacular (and it rained a fair bit too, just for a change!)

Get yourself a surge protection strip - a four or six-way block of sockets, preferably with a phone in and out connector.

Raining and cold here. Cold by comparison with recent weeks, anyway.

Absolutely tipping it down here and cold too. It's no wonder that Pi doesn't want to come out. Rolling Eyes

Do you think he/she'll come out with a Geordie accent?
Marionb

It certainly does seem colder tonight.... I really felt the chill when I went out to the sheep earlier.

I've got the gas fire lit tonight and I had the Central Heating on yesterday evening Shocked mainly because the house felt "damp", particularly the boys' bedrooms.....

Ooh Tay, you surely wont have long to go now.... Very Happy Do you have a set date after which (if they baby hasnt arrived) they will take you in and induce you?
Tay

I'll be induced next week on Thursday if he/she hasn't arrived by then. I really don't want to be induced, so the little scamp had better come out soon. Rolling Eyes

As for the Geordie accent - I hope so!

They're always good! Wink

Yes, we've been busy trying to encourage Pi out with a variety of methods, but to no avail. Perhaps tomorrow I'll make some dhansak - pineapple within curry may be suitable provocation?

We've got one, but I don't trust it! Rolling Eyes Two years ago our main phone socket got blown clear off the wall after a lightning strike Surprised and it messed up the 'puter even though the surge thingy was plugged in.
Barefoot Andrew

ariana wrote:

Might that have been because the surge protection fuse had already blown from a previous storm? The strip will continue to have worked as a block of mains sockets, just without protection. Mine has an LED lit to confirm the fuse is still OK... although my computers still sit behind another layer of protection (the UPS and its built-in protection).

Sounds a likely explanation. We get a lot of storms up here! I'd better check it out. Thanks
