Jazz...hmm...nice...

Not a big jazz fan generally but this young man was at The Plough last night and everyone involved seemed to have a jolly time so I thought I'd give him a plug.
Barefoot Andrew

Got half an idea no change there then he's been on Late Junction. But not being much of a Jazz fan either I wouldn't have been paying attention to those bits. Nice site though.

I hate jazz. Hate it with a vengeance. Can't bear it. It makes me want to scream until my head explodes.

Sorry - bit over the top there. Isn't it weird, tho', how one person can enjoy something that makes another person really miserable?

I feel about country and western the way you do about jazz. I like some jazz, but not all jazz. Individual taste is indeed a strange thing.

I like trad but all that "scoobedy-do" & finger-snapping makes me want to go to the toilet.

Unfortunately I quite like country and western - it isn't all Tammy Wynette - try Lucinda Williams, she's very edgy (OK - still a bit whiny but definitely funky with it)

My daughter has just got me into a variety of "metal" stuff - loads of things I'd never heard of - folk metal/pirate metal - goodness knows what else. I love it.

I keep meaning to get Penny do make me a copy of a T-shirt I saw at a festival a couple of years back.

On the front it said

"There's two kinds of jazz"

and on the back,

"and they're both c**p"

(Actually it was ruder than that, but you get the idea Laughing )

You bought a Billie Holiday album this afternoon. That's jazz by most people's definition. Confused

Nice website. Can't say the same for the music. Too fast for my taste. I prefer more classic old fart stuff like Miles Davis and Oscar Peterson.

Compared to Bessie Smith, Billie H is definitely jazz!

I like both Lucinda Williams and Miles Davis. Good music is just good music.
