Just ordered four pigs

Three males and one female. They are a 'cul noir' crossed with a large white so we get the best of both worlds, Free reange tasty pork and plenty of it. Wink

We pick them up Saturday. Pictures will undoubtedly follow. Very Happy

Thats very exciting, are they still babies or are you getting bigger pigs?
Simon

They are almost 4 months old but we saw the litter of ten when they were a day old. I just wish I had had my camera with me back then.

Well done, they will be fun!

Weighed my 2 boars for the welsh winter fair on tuesday, 9 weeks old to the day they were and 31.5kg and 30kg, they are absolutley flying on and growing really fast!
Anders

How much did they set you back?
Simon

Got 'em for 60 Euros each as I am taking four. Normally we pay over a hundred per pig. Very Happy

I'm happy as a pig in s...

What is the benefit of crossing with the large white? Could it perhaps be size Wink
If so how much bigger than a cul noir do they get?
Simon

I'm not sure. We've always had large whites in the past but the cul noir are supposed to be tastier. Our first large white got to 190 kilos. Shocked He was a big boy.
Simon

Pig pig!

Have you got them yet?
Simon

Yes. We got them this morning. They are presently in the cowshed and will keep them in there for a few days before letting them loose on the weeds (sorry - veg plot). Laughing

The big one in the YouTube link above is the mother and the little ones with her are the siblings. As we were last to order them we got the whiter of the ten but I'm not too concerned as they will all be porc in February.
