Just secured our dream property (i think)Our house is on the market, but we've seen a house that is PERFECT for us! It belongs to a man who owns a 5000 acre farm estate with 32 houses & tenants. He's selling off two of the houses though. We went up there about 3 weeks ago to view it and the owner said he really liked us and would love for us to buy the house (even though there was a developer who had offered on it).
The only problem is that we haven't sold our house yet. So my dad went up there today to have a meeting with him to see if we could come to some sort of arrangement to secure the house until ours is sold (we bought this house with my parents and split it, and we're buying this new house with them and we'd live in the house and they'd convert the barn).
My dad phoned me a while ago and said the meeting went really well - it lasted for an hour and a half  and to secure the property we're going to be renting it at a VERY good rate  until our house is sold!
I'm SO SO happy. We'd all worked out how much we could afford to pay for renting it (we suspected that renting it would be suggested today) before my dad went up there, so we had a figure to work to, expecting to pay quite a lot (which none of us can really afford, but with scrimping on absolutely everything we could just about have managed it). But it's actually worked out to be a lot lower than we were expecting. What kind, lovely people! It really IS a very good rate... i could hardly believe it when my dad told me!!!
So we're signing tonight and sending the agreement off first thing monday!
I'm SO happy - can't believe something finally seems to be going our way!!! xxxx
