If you are buying a meat box anyway I can add some to it like I did for Ros as a sample or I can spec a box up with just what you want in it.

That reminds me does handmademeat do any kind of monthly box scheme? I had one a while ago from well hung meat, and for people who like convinience, it was brilliant. I only stopped cos himself insists on a roast every week, and they didn't include enough roasting meat for us. in every other respect, it was marvellous.

I think that a box of beef and beef products (added value, you've made up the burgers and the meatballs etc.) would be a good alternative alongside a straight box of joints, mince, stew and steaks etc.
give the punters a little bit more choice - but not so much as to make it inconvenient or less profitable for you

I am willing to do a monthly box scheme if thats what people want.

What sort of weight of meat would you use in a month/ how heavy would you want the box to be?

Or would you rather we started at a price &worked out what we could supply for that price?

That's a great idea, you could have a monthly budget box, a standard box and a premium box.

Still need a rough idea how much meat people will actualy use / eat in a month for a couple, small family & big family or how much they would want to spend each month.

Trouble with the cheaper box is that the delivery & box (over £15) will then have a larger effect on price per kg. So the budget watchers end up the worse off.

Right, our meat usage for the last week was - two beef stock bones, 1kg mince, 6 lambs kidneys, 3 pieces beef shin, 1kg topside. that was four 4 people for a week, and would be a budget week for us.
RichardW

So about 3kg of meat per week (excluding bones). So our existing box sizes are about right for a month.

For some one wanting a roast joint each week the roasts alone would be about 6-8kg

a bbq selection for the summer might be an idea as well!

I think I had the large box - I don't need a box anymore, because I get all my meat locally in bulk, but it was a really convinient way to biy meat - I reckon people with money will pay for quality, but generally they will pay a premium for convinience.

On an average week I use a small roasting joint, half a chicken, a pound of mince or stewing meat, a pound of sausages or burgers, and a treat of chops or steak. And stock. I found it very difficult to use 'in between' cuts - minute steaks that were too good to slow cook and not good enough for steak and chips, large silversides that weren't up to roasting, but too big to pot roast just for us. Proper stewing cuts were fine. I suppose most people stir fry - I never really stir fry.

Large box is 13kg for £122 from wellhung

take a 5kg beef box & add 8kg using the options & our price is £97
(using other meats like pork goat mutton would hardly affect the price)
Mixed box 9kg for £70 (13kg £100)
