And what a pair of loons on the first programme The buliding looked lovely from the outside, and the lean to was a good space, but the rest of it, they've got a toddler FCS

I've enjoyed both programmes thus far - magical places. Although the second one (watched it last night) was hampered a bit by blinking digital telly mucking about

Those were the days. bang the side of the telly to get the horizontal hold working. Is this one of those retro tellys?

I only saw the second one, but the bloke seriously got on my chimes with his apparent disregard for the legalities of the planning process. And as for the bloody water wheel plonked on the side!
Still, I suppose as a set designer, he's used to pastiche and artifice.
My sympathies are entirely with the neighbours, who certainly seem to have a case.

Some of the channels on DTT Mux2 seem to have been irritatingly unreliable lately, when all the Beeb channels (Mux1) have worked just fine. Might have to check for something cross-channel going on or sommat.

That guy should see some of the mansions they let them build on top of eachother in villages round here, any closer and they'd be terraces.

I agree
he seemed to be under the impression that because he was building in the country and not in the city, the rules should no longer apply
it strikes me as an eyesore. AND it appears to be a second home...

Hello all. we are the neighbours of the Chilterns Water Mill. We've just found your corner of the internet, and I see you've found our blog already. You might like to google "gaudi shopfront" for some more info on the builder. If anyone has any questions I will try to answer, but please bear with me - as you might imagine I've had to join a fair few forums lately to counteract some of the very unpleasant comments about us out there. I'm pleased to see civilisation is alive and well here though

The land is just there for the taking ... go west, young man! Or in this case, kind of central-ish.

Ah, there's a famous quote from the theatre that says:
'One mans artificer, is another's complete w****r.'
