Yes, I think I've got a pair of socks on the go (don't ask for how long!). Came with a free pattern
Knits quite nicely. I've got the blues and greens.

I love my country, for me patriotic socks would be shades of green and brown and rustic shades cos thats the colours England mostly is.
Olympics Jubilee and all that stuff really isn,t my thing but a lot of folks will get a bit of fun out of it.
I used to do weaving quite a lot, and did some dog tooth check in shades of green and russet. It was originally designed for use in the highlands, because it blended in with the background. In the south of England I have always found it objectionable because it stands out like a sore thumb, hence the more muted shades that blend with eath other and the countryside.
I too have had a pair of socks on the go for ages, and haven't finished them, although I am decreasing at the end of the toe on the second sock. Have a pair of fingerless gloves to do after that, but seem to have mislaid the pattern, so will have to find one on line.
