Ladybirds flown home? What has happened to ladybirds this year? Have they been put off by the late spring? I have been picking aphids off rosebuds by hand for a week now.
Anyone know?

Ours showed weeks ago, and then there was that sudden freeze. I reckon it must have wiped out loads.

I've seen a few, but not many.
Fortunately I haven't noticed any aphids yet either.

Bizarre. Our garden has been crawling with ladybirds, absolutely loads of them. The only plant I've had aphids on has been the venus flytrap (and yes, the stupid thing did go and eat a ladybird).

I posed for that one years ago. Good likeness, eh?
(bonus point for the first person to name the exact species depicted)

They are on my allotment. I am overrun. Its hard to dig without squashing them. Its a swarm.

plenty ladybirds ,more aphids than last week .but as the lb's got in first they will probably both be in balance .

Treacodactyl

Plenty of all sorts here. When I put my citrus out one arrived within a few hours to munch on the plum greenfly.

First thought was a mandrake root Cab, second some form of fungus, possibly a cep?
And I have still got zero ladybirds.
