Light fittings

Can anyone recommend a good source for light fittings? I'd like something a bit posher than Screwfix, but not prohibitively expensive, if that isn't too much to ask.

Oi. You two. I'm trying to downsize my life, not end up with seventeen rugs and a load of assorted kitchenware that might come in useful somehow!

BHS. Hmm. The one in Manchester was good. I wonder if that is the closest one to me.

I think that's now at the Trafford Centre - IKEA's closer to you, and you're less likely to want to kill there.

I got some very nice, and not hugely expensive, ceramic wall lights (gentle curved rectangle with six small squares cut out) online ....scratching my head to recall the www but I'll find it for you and post again. I think the site did a whole range of fixings and fittings, as well as shades and sconces etc, etc.

Even the sight of the Trafford Centre makes me feel ever so queasy. I would have to be heavily sedated to set foot in there.

They sound good. If the url comes back to you, please let me know. It isn't urgent - I just want to start looking.

Looking at a rolled up Ikea rug at this very moment, so know what you mean about the inevitable/impulse buying that just, well .... happens.

This was the website.

They still have the square ceramic fittings http://www.lighting-direct.co.uk/ono-ceramic-wall-light-p-5850.html?rn=16 that we have in the lounge but can't spot the long rectangular one I have on the stairs up to the loft. Always a bit wary of buying things like this online but this was a good experience - they were better than I expected. The ceramic surface is matt, subtle off-white and they come with different coloured filters which tuck behind the holes in the shade to cast a diff coloured glow.

sorry, having a total blank on creating a one word link Smile

Thanks EV. Some lovely stuff to look at there.

We could have Swedish Comestibles if we went to Ikea.

And they have lots of very reasonably priced nice baby things.
