Linux dummy port serverI am possibly having a firewall issue and I want to set up something to listen on a port, something like an "echo" service, just so I can see if I can contact the port. This seems a simple enough thing, but what can I use to do it?

When do you need it?
I can knock you up a quick "server" in about half an hour, but it'll not be until tomorrow morning.

Can you not start Postfix (or some other mailer), vsftpd (or some other FTP server) to bring up ports 25 or 21?
