Dunno. Sticking stuff on facebook or a blog then complaining if people comment seems like wanting to have your cake and eat it to me.

It reminded me of a similar bugbear, that's people suggesting new ways of 'making money' out of the farm, invariably by doing something completely different which would involve a capital injection, a new skillset and some more time (ie a member of staff to run it).

This was my thought, but I get yelled at if I complained that bloggers generally are only ever in transmit mode.

Surely it is the nature of the comments that make the difference - he's not complaining about people commenting per se, just the nature of certain comments, and why they are inappropriate. (not that I'm that keen on blogs either, mind)

Posting emotive stuff about a dying lamb and then complaining because people have an emotional response to it is trying to have your penny and your bun.

I've just read some of the comments on the facebook page. On reflection perhaps the abusive ones aren't so bad.

i get the impression that the ds collective are quite realistic about most animal care issues.
pet or farm if the op states their relationship with the critter the advice tends to be sensible and in keeping with the nature of the beast.
i can see how bunny huggers and bunny eaters might conflict in outlook for instance but so long as the poster is clear as to whether they need nursing advice or a recipe they tend to get what is required
