One of my favourite films ever - having lived in such a community, I can confirm it is spot on
How is it "downsizery" though?
Are there 2 g-s in bugger off - I use that one a lot.

My favourite movie and Mark Knofler sound track. I hope they re-make it with the current real life Donald Trump golf course story.

Sense of community, remote setting, everybody has 3 jobs, people coming in want to stay, ...

Dennis Lawson (Gordon the accountant) is Euan McGreggor's uncle and has gone on to do good things after that movie as have others. It is 25 years since it was made, and has been released as a DVD to celebrate.

Ah. We may have to disagree on the notion of "downsizery" (hate that word ) then- no matter, still a great film, great music, bit of essential nostalgia for me now. It was on a few weeks ago, and I actually sat down and watched it on TV.

Plans still on course, 7 year plan now down to 4. However, I am still getting on with work that needs to be done down here, in the eventuality we never get back up there. Would hate to get 5 years down the road, look back and wish I'd planted the rare old cider apples, or the mulberry, or got on with my goat breeding plans, whatever. Bloom where you are planted, and all that Mr D already talking about early retiremnt, which is good, and one offspring really keen to get up there. So - watch this space. Thanks for asking, though, appreciated
