M-J is blowing her own fishing trumpet today...

...because she was presented with her first Welsh cap yesterday.




Spent the weekend with the rest of the Welsh Ladies' International Fly-Fishing Team at Trawsfynyyd in North Wales for training, practice, plus a friendly Welsh Inter-Teams match yesterday.
We had a presentation ceremony afterwards where the new Welsh caps got their, well, Welsh caps - one to wear and one for the wall.

I will even admit to getting a small tear in my eye... Embarassed

Because I was so knackered I could barely stand mochyn.
I arrived home at 9pm last night and had to be back on my feet at 9am in Aber today, teaching International Contractual Agreements in Advanced Commercial Law...whilst feeling as if I had been run over by a fully laden Land Rover and buggered by a herd of angry Rhino. Mary-Jane

As part of some sort of scheme to get 'match fit' or whatever they call it, she's inveigled me into accompanying her to what she called a 'spinning class'.
There I was, thinking it meant flicking a few brass spoons and lures out over the water and preparing to wax the trusty palakona cane, when she tells me it involves sitting on a stationary bicycle, pedalling like fury and going precisely nowhere, all the while being subjected to what is called 'inspirational music'. And one has to wear wearing man-made fibres, so the scope for flashovers doesn't bear thinking about.

I quite enjoy spinning now the class has ramped up a bit. It is ever so ridiculous, but it doesn't half work up a sweat if you up the resistance.

Kaz used to have a contract there as a physio, and I remember her telling me that she'd been told that when they caught and tested the fish from the lake, they always tested the rainbows and never the brown trout or perch which tended to feed more on the bottom.
