Maggots

Eeuuuwww!!

Left the carrier bag containing the week's kitchen waste on the the kitchen floor overnight. When I picked it up this morning there was a nasty heaving pool of maggots under it Shocked . I really hate maggotty things - I'd much rather clear up cat vom, at least it doesn't try to escape Laughing .

Note to self: Don't try to get away with using only one carrier bag for kitchen waste per week in warm weather, even though it's nearly all plastic and has hardly any food waste in...
sally_in_wales

oh yuk, not my most favourite thing to clean up either.
Chez

I thought this was going to be a thread about how to get rid of sour crop Laughing

They were a bit small for attaching to a hook. I can't be doing with maggots - they are just too icky Embarassed . I think it's the combination of wriggling and the nasty pallid colour of them. They make me think of intestinal worms. Strange that I don't mind heaving heaps of lovely pinky-brown worms writhing in the compost bin at all Confused .
Tittch

It's the smell that grosses me out. Horrid little things. Fortunately the only time we've had a big problem was when the cool box got blood leaked into and left outside..... I don't think any more details are needed Neutral

and what about the use of maggots in health therapy along with leeches and honey, they can be quite useful in the debraiding of wounds to help in the healig process.

imagin the scene in A&E, yes nurse he has a bad laceration on his thigh, bring in the bucket of maggots Shocked
Green Rosie

There'll be no maggots near MY lacerated arm thank you very much!
