Magpies stealing eggsOnce magpies start stealing eggs from the chook house is there any way to stop them?
These are HFW style houses-up-a-pole about 100yds from the house. If we hear the chook annouce the lay then we can go and collect the egg - but any delay and it's gone. Magpies seen emerging from house.......
Guess we could re-locate the chooks nearer to the house.... or ....

I think ginkotree has similar problems, if I recall correctly, they will teach the young magpies to do the same thing so interrupting a generation of magpies by culling seems to be one way of deling with this
