making wooden furnitureDoes anyone know of anyone who could make me a wooden trunk with a hinged front - to be used for a tv cabinet. I am struggling to find what i want from the shops so am now looking to find someone who can make it for me

Do you have a picture of what you had in mind?

No sadly I don't - currently my tv is on a blanket box made out of reclaimed pine. Basically I want the same but I want the front to be hinged so that I can put the dvd player inside. So instead of having a hinged lid a hinged front - does that make sense?
All the tv cabinets in the shops are either too small or made out of materials I do not like

Is it impractical to "adjust " and improvise the one you already have? Timber is probably the best material for doing something like that.

We have thought about that and it is beyond mine and OHs carpentry skills - plus we would like to use the blanket box as a blanket box if we can find a replacement

Car boot sales, often see old chests etc going for a song (but then that is on the Wirral)?
Might be worth a try.

Countess of Chester hospital on a Sunday morning is one of the best.
Some clown has just arranged our christmas do on one of the Ferry boats-its the Royal Iris or the only other one still going-can't remember its name-deep joy!
