Marzipan tree decorations

Not rocket science but I spotted some boxes of marzipan fruits in ASDA at reduced price and it ocurred to me how pretty they would look as decorations. I have some silver and gold thread so I'm intending to thread this through them to make a loop to hang on the tree.

One question I have though is how well they are likely to last (assuming nobody eats them) hanging on the tree because if they are likely to spoil I will leave it until the last minute to make them.

how would you make sure they were ( oh dear - snigger) stiff enough not to droop....

I don't think that would be a problem.

They wouldn't really be able to be eaten if they had hung on the tree. They would either be tasty nice shapes, and too soft for the tree, or decorations, and therefore stale marzipan, that had dried out and so retained their shape.

I wouldn't use them as tree decorations, but if you like the idea of small fruit as tree decorations why not make some out of salt dough? You can even cook them in a crockpot

I liked the idea of them being edible and they were so pretty *sighs* oh well, never mind. Maybe I'll just have to eat them instead.

We don't have one. I love Christmas cake but I'm the only one in the house that does so I have to be satisfied with eating what I can get when we go to my parents on Boxing day.

Why deprive yourself of a Christmas cake just because no one else likes it?
