Chez

Happy to host, if we're not too far in the middle of no-where? But also happy to travel.
Any day but the 12th or 15th.
What about Tues 9th or Tues 16th or Thurs 11th or 19th? (Because Woodsprite can't do Wednesdays and you baking-types can't do Fridays).
|
mochyn
|
Any of those is good for me.
|
Cathryn
|
Can't do the 11th and the 19 is a Friday...
(However I am an honororararay so will see what dates you all settle on first of all.)
This is forcing me to go into my work emails and fill my diary in dammit.

Chez
|
Sorry, meant the 18th ...
|
woodsprite

Oh, Judith: is the 13th good for you for me to come and remove some of your willow and/or ducks?

Aaargggggh no. I have visitors of a sensitive disposition that weekend. The weekends before and after are fine though.

You need to get your priorities straight.

Botheration. They really do need to go soon. I suppose I could get the first ones in the freezer and then you could give me a hand with the second lot some time early next year. Is that sounding more feasible?

It does really; sorry. I can probably get over between Christmas and New Year if the ducks need to go early.
I think I have to go over in February to help Mochyn with some mochyn.

A minor miracle: it's only taken us a day to decide on a date and venue!
OK: so all round to Chez's on the 18th of December, then.
|
Cathryn

It's in my diary and I am tempted but will have to wait until nearer the date.

You could stop over here if that helps - will Ruby have finished school by then?
|
Cathryn
|
Thank you. She finishes the next day but is going away with her Dad for the weekend in any case.

I could come along on the 18th December actually...assuming I was germ-free and you'd want me there of course...

Buy you're a Working Girl, not a Domestic Slut.

Oooh do come.
Same offer of accommodation applies.

Details, details...besides, I won the DS of the Year Award for having a slug in my freezer and I need to collect the award.

Yes, do come. And bring your slug .
Anyone else who wants to come is welcome, too - we also have some sleeping-over space if anyone would like to stay.

I've hesitated to post this but having spent a sleepless night feel I must.
I'm very worried about us all turning up at Chez and Arvo's with our 'foreign' germs and making life even more difficult for poor little Eleanor. I really think she needs to be germ free for as long as possible in order to have any chance or having a healthy as poss winter and I'd hate to think that we added to her burden for the sake of one afternoons frivolity.
Am I being a stupid worry wort? I'd offer to host here instead but it's a bit of a hike for you all. What do others think? Please tell me to shut up if I'm worrying too much but I can't help thinking of that poor little scrap.
|
Chez
|
We have discussed this and are happy in principle to still host (hence I put up another post saying that in case people were worrying). But now you've spelt it out like this I think I would like to double-check with the hospital. It might be that she is still in next week ... but I suppose more likely that she is out by then.
Thank you for being so thoughtful ...

judith

If you want to go ahead, we could always use me as a last-minute back-up.
|
Chez
|
Fab, thanks Judith. I have sent Arvo off with a list of things to ask them .

I'm worried about the same thing woodsprite.
Having just fought off a nasty head cold, I've now gone down with a throat infection and Gervase is laid up completely with proper flu. I seem to have spread this to all and sundry amongst DS members and workmates alike...
I would hate to pass it all any further than I already have. My vote (not that I'm a fully paid up member of MDS yet) would be for a re-scheduled meet between Christmas and the New Year.

I'm with Woodsprite and MJ - Its a heck of a risk with all the various "snots" that are going around at the moment plus I've an ulterior motive

Ooooh that would be good - I'm off then - I'd even offer to host but its a bit far for so many to come up North
|
woodsprite
|
Thank goodness you said that Chez, I really hoped that you wouldn't be offended, phew! I'm just so worried that we might introduce yet another infection.
|
Helen M

i also agree, i would not be at all happy to think any of us has taken anything nasty along
