Measuring rainfallWe measure rainfall and chart high and low temperatures ...and humidity, not as an accurate science but as a passing interest. Also, relocating it has taken some time to adjust to the weather patterns for things such as planting crops. Here in Spain rainfall is measured in litres per square meter (we had 42 litres overnight). I cannot remember the English system - I know it is measured in inches or centimetres but in relation to what?
Anyone else on DS monitor the weather?

In relation to the area it fell on.
IE how deep it would be if you put a wall around the area. It matters not how big or small that area is
So 1L / meter would be 1mm I think.
So 42L/m would be 42mm.

I don't, but there was a fair amount of rainfall yesterday, enough to fill our compact butt and a few large watering cans. And the pond is full.
