Meat...Entertaining article about the book by HFW, and men's relationship with food in general here.
Oddly, Steve Jelbert who wrote it was a part-timer in one of the shops I worked in for Oddbins.

Loosely related to this subject.
Whilst waiting for a coffee in a shop yesterday, I picked up a copy of the news of the world. It has a Jamie Oliver feature where he answers foodie questions. It seems to be aimed at people wanting a one or two line answer - how do I make a sandwich, can you think of a recipe combining beans and toast. That sort of thing.
Apart from one. One News of the world reader wanted a two line answer on "How do I produce my own ham".
Bless him, the pukka one started trying to encourage them to source decent pork but gave up and said it was too complicated to explain there, go and get HFW's Meat book instead!

Why oddly? Is it too much to expect of the average Oddbins worker to be reasonably literate?

No, and he's a full-time freelance journalist now as far as I know. But, I don't know any other journalists so it seemed funny that he was writing about something that interests me. What a small world it is to be sure, etc.
