Microwaves and cakes

Is it possible to bake cakes that taste good in a microwave? I want to make small and mini cupcakes/fairycakes. I have no recipe and no idea if this would work. As I can't/don't bake cakes in a normal oven, I have no recipes or experience to adapt to microwave cooking. Rolling Eyes Laughing

But if Downsizer can't answer a question on cakes, I'm not sure if anyone can! Wink

I did have a microwave mug cake recipe waved at me last week, even think I posted it here somehwere but we suspect it needs modifications (offhand the oil quantities looked off for example)

It does work with an ordinary Victoria sponge recipe.
But as the microwave does not colour the cake, I only do chocolate ones.
Vanilla look pale and revolting.....

and I use at least 2 cake cases as they don't stay upright and just spread.

Microwave sponge pud in a small earthenware basin, with fruit in the bottom and lots of custard, can be made and eaten within 15 mins and is the supreme comfort food on cold wet evenings.
A one egg mix just about keeps us both happy !
