I just keep coughing pathetically Sad
Cathryn

Ruby's thrown up. Sad However she has just started to flick her fingers and ask for food so I am not too concerned. Too cold here for any bug to get a grip. There is still a hard frost and icicles everywhere and we are right on the beach.
mochyn

I heard the old chap coughin in the night so I fed him some cough mixture.

Some time later I realised it wasn't him I could hear, it was the cider fermenting.

Get well message to you all, theres plenty of bugs flying around the shopping centre today, people sneezing and coughing all over the place....wanted to run home as it seems to be very contageous even if we had had frost perminantly for four days now.....
wellington womble

Right that's it, I'm taking a gas mask next time I see you lot!

Seeing as Sean has cursed me into having it (and we've got that Novo-virus thingy going around locally anyway) I'm going to make something with lots of garlic and chilli and ginger in to smoke the so-and-so's out!

you went to the shopping centre?
Sherbs

We definitely have it down our way.

I've already been off work for about a week and the Sherbling has been off school most of last week.

The best thing we've tried so far was a fabulous curried Cajun stew that Rich made. I felt much better after that, I think it kind of numbed everything, much better than lemsip!

You get a better class of lurgy from Wales sad3 I'm going to bed *sniff*
Fee

Pesky lurgy, decided to get up and do a bit of work instead of lying in bed coughing and sniffing, and not sleeping Sad

I want to go to sleep and wake up better.
sally_in_wales

ugh, I thought I'd had this and it had all gone away, but I feel terrible this morning, the coughing is enough to make the world feel like its stopped until it passes. So wish I didnt have to go to work, but we're short staffed today and I really need to go in
Fee

Sad Bloomin' horrible, isn't it!

Judging by how contagious it is, you might be better staying at home!
Mary-Jane

I've given in this morning and decided to stay at home for a day. I've brought home a pile of work with me, so once the boys have gone to work/school I shall curl up and get on with all of that.

Sorry again everyone... Sad

He'll be fine. He hasn't even asked if he can miss school.

Wusses.

I had all this weeks ago - I think I slowed down for a day or two and slept for longer. People said I looked like the living death, but I couldn't see anything different.

Go for a job in this nice, cold, crisp air; it'll do you all the world of good.

you'll be really short staffed when the rest of the workers have it in two days time Sally, stay at home. The rest of my office have the I cab struggle into work despite a cold attitude and it really winds me up. Just stay at home in bed for a day or to and come back in when you feel better.

I'm at home sick practising what I preach now as well, luckliy I can work form home in between coughing and sneezing. Fee has now gone back to bed and fallen asleep so hopefully she'll be a bit better when she wakes up.

I'm mostly resisting - just a bit snotty today. I've been trying NL's "get out into the cold and do some exercise" cure, so even if I eventually do succumb, at least I can feel virtuous!

Arvo only has the Man Version. Cool.
vegplot

I cycle or swim when I get a cold then a good hot chilli or curry. Seems to keep them at bay. Swimming maybe anti social.

Got one now but it's only a little sniffle.

Oddly enough this bug seems to be a woman version, Fee's in bed and feeverish unable to move or do anything and I'm sniffing and sneezing but otherwise mostly OK

More curry for lunch and I might go outside and dig the garden or something

Get well soon everyone
Chez

We're going in to Welshpool en masse, to spread it about. I am hoping that Eleanor doesn't actively throw up on the bank manager Laughing

REST, YOU!!!! Very Happy

seriously not worth doing anything...not even sitting down work...I found my brain just wound't work properly so I mostly gawped at silly films on the telly and slept....
Fee

Hmmm...I would usually agree with you, LW, but as I don't go out very much my opportunity to pick things up is fairly limited. A coincidence that Mary-Jane had it and most of us who were there came down with the same thing fairly promptly? I don't think so, really, I think it's just a very aggressive bug.

I'm also sure that I got it so quickly because I've been feeling very run down lately, and still hadn't got over the last blasted lurgy!

Yeah, good advice, I'm off to have a wash then curl up on the sofa under a duvet and put a DVD on Smile

No really it is Very Happy We arrived Friday night, and symptoms started Monday morning...... on balance though, I'd much rather have been and enjoyed M-J and Gervase's wonderful hospitality and everyone else's company, and come home with a lurgy, rather than not and be lurgy-less!

Oh, same here, but at Cathryn & Jack's, obviously Smile
Cathryn

Oh me also, well you know what I mean. My own fault for being all self righteous about not having been ill like this for years. Rolling Eyes I am not too bad actually and if I didn't have so much work on currently would also do the get out there into the cold wind and get it blown away approach. I decided not to go near my Mum however so my brother has had to take her in for her knee op. Hope I get over this quickly as I want to be able to visit her in hospital. She hadn't been in herself since giving birth so it's a bit scary for her. Sad
sally_in_wales

I've come home, took me two hours to get here what with the slow stagger up the hill and all that, agree wholeheartedly with the not overexerting, I really didnt rush getting up the hill but it was enough to make me throw up when I got in Sad Feel very sorry for myself. Am checking emails as a distraction whilst I get my breath back then I'm off to bed
Sherbs

I made that mistake last week Sal, thought I'd had a cold and got over it, didn't feel great Thursday morning but went into work anyway, gave up and came home by 10:30. This bug is a really nasty one, I wouldn't plan on doing anything at all in the next few days. I've just spent several days watching childrens tv and that was about my intellectual level.
lettucewoman

I feel pants as well...thought I'd got over it mostly apart from the cough but feel feverish and achey too now Sad

FED UP!!

Ive got so much to do......
Fee

It's def. a narrrsty one! I hope it's gone by the weekend, we're supposed to be having friends' Christmas here on Saturday and I have nowt sorted yet!

I'm going to try and get the Christmas cake marzipanned at least, and try and get the living room tidied up reaqdy for the Christmas tree to go up, in the hope that we'll be feeling better by then.

If not, we'll be cancelling, seen as one couple coming are bringing their newborn baby! *sniff*

Mrs Fiddlesticks

Right since there is all these sicky people about (may I deputise for you M-J I promise not to use the clip-board)

Please plonk yourself on the DS Sofa of Snot under the duvet and I'll be round to take your orders for Lemsip/hot toddies/tissues/ tea/weird poultices - please apply them yourselves though/ and ancient herbal remedies.

Nobody is to Do Anything.. I'll just chuck all your snotty washing in to boil, together shall I?

Now, mummy kisses all round mwah, mwah - from a safe distance obviously.. and try to get some sleep.

Mrs F has spoken... Wink
Fee

Good advice, I just marzipanned the Christmas cake, nothing too much I thought, now I'm all hot again and need to sit down Sad
yummersetter

Fee - if you marzipan the cake without robing up like a surgeon you'll kill half of Surrey - it'll be real-life Survivors, we'll be playing football on a deserted M3

My chap's got it too, and he was in Northwest Norway last week, so it's travelled a long way from Wales (or maybe a long way from Norway, it was an Arctic wind last week, wasn't it? )
