Miswak 'Toothbrush'Hello downsizers.
I'm wondering if anyone out there can help me with a little problem i've been having. I've decided to give up landfill ( http://forum.downsizer.net/viewtopic.php?t=24291) and have encountered a little problem. Toothbrushes.
I've discovered the miswak toothbrush, which is a wooden alternative to your average plastic western brush. It seems to be used by a large part of the world and be pretty sound BUT i can't seem to buy ones not in plastic packaging. Anyone know where i can get one?
Help!
Thanks very much.

If you don't have much luck in this country I can put you in touch with a friend of mine who is an incense dealer and buys his supplies in bulk direct from the producers in the midle east. I'm sure he could source you some next time he travels to the right area

Have you tried local islamic communities, if you know of any near you?
Or try making your own? I know Peelu is traditionally used but I don't think it has to be the case. I think Walnut wood can also be used, and probably other native woods work as well.

Yup, you'll find em for sale in loads of places. I've never been able to get on with them, I now use Lavera(??) toothbrushes with replaceable heads.
