Monitor resolution

Have just bought a new Dell 17" monitor and moved it to 1280x1024 from 800x600....blimey things are so small...tho less scrolling.
Can anyone guess what I have done wrong.
Am already on the largest text in 'View'
Can barely see the submit button.

After years of fannying around, I've settled on 1280x960; sometimes I run out of desk space, but most of the time it gives enough room to do things while leaving controls big enough to see!

i change mine up for photo /artwork ,medium for this , and a bit lower for complex gaming as that is what seems to work best .
guess that sort of applies whatever the hardware .

Yes, got it on medium now, marginally better.
Not so much scrolling but hardly worth £126.
Thank you for the feedback.

'Fraid I work at 1600 x 1200 where possible (stoopid laptop will only go to 1028 x 764), I need as much screen size as possible to work on...I'm designing and building training courses designed for 1024 x 768 a lot of the time, so it's nice to have a bit of room around that.

I used to work at 1600x1280 on a 19" CRT as well Cool

It is now 2x 1280x1024 on 19" TFTs with a tendency to decrease the text size below normal. I just like to get as much on screen as I can.

mines set at 1600 X 1200.
If you use opera for your browser you can have the pages displayed from 20% of the size upto 1000% which is very useful(not the 1000%) when reading pages with loads of text.
When on windows I use 1280 X 1024 and everything is huge
