One of my friends makes cotton bags and gives them away with orders over a certain amount on her website. She also just gives them away - she carries them about with her and so I have quite a few knocking around.

She makes them from whatever's around, so mostly fabric that's given to her.

Some I made recently...

I like the one with leaves (although they're all nice).

Did you tie-dye the bottom ones yourself?

Nice bags, Marigold. Cool

Thanks, the leaf one I made in my textiles class - fabric paints and leaves from (I think) a sycamore tree in the college grounds, the fabric is a heavyish weight cotton I bought years ago for batik. I enjoyed the printing more than the making up. The tie-dye ones I dyed myself using machine-dye (not very ecologically sound) and lighter weight fabric, also left over from my batik days. The other one is made from recycled charity-shop curtains. I've sold them all to a "can't sew" friend - yay!

I'm thinking of buying some blank bags and dying/printing them for sale, but not sure how much I could sell them for given that my local Co-op is selling Fair-traded calico bags for £1!! I'd need to cover my costs and make some money, so not sure if it's viable...

they are good looking bags.....was inspired to make one this afternoon when the rain started and gardening had to be cancelled!
Make spice it up with a bit of decoration next......

Yuck.

there's few things on the web that annoy me more than slow websites with completely unnecessary flash animations.

what they are on about could be nice, I don't know because their site is inaccessable tripe
