Mouse?Our patch of bread seed poppies has been raided this year with quite a few heads disappearing. Any idea what might be pinching them? We do have wood/field mice and voles, and I expect various other critters. The hole is about 2cm wide.
What seems a bit strange is the fact they're are opium poppies so I have visions of a group of stoned-varmints laying about the veg patch although I've yet to see any.

We do have plenty of greys around but they tend to take stuff away and munch, that's why there's often half eaten apples in the hedge. These heads are either on the plants or on the ground under things. It looks a bit dainty for a rat as well.
