Moving imagesSome people hate em others love em, should we allow animated images in avatars?We've had this discussion internally and haven't been able to reach a resolution so it's up to you, the people... I'm not really fussed about the avatars, but having them in sigs is reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly annoying. |

I've said no because they are distracting - however if someone has a moving avatar I just press the esc button and it stops moving - until I refresh the page or look in a different thread when I have to do it again if necessary. | ||||

They are distracting. Just because you can do things with technology it doesn't necessarily follow that those 'things' are worth doing. | ||||

I was so relieved when I saw the poll result that I'm not the only one who finds them too "flashy".

Simon, I made a short video of these for my blog and it came out as a minute of blurry semi-stationary cheapo windcharger with what sounded like wind sound effects in the background... 
Would be nice though for an avatar ! but as I don't approve of that sort of thing...humph

I think Jamanda has a good point though, if everybody had one it would be a bit hectic. I agree with RoryD though, seems a bit conservative for Downsizer to restrict members in such a way. I myself am quite happy with my clown at the momment, so neither care nor not care wether they stay or not.
