msn instal programme problemi wonder if anyone can help me with an msn update installer programme?the new outlook messenger from msn tries to instal but tells me there are open programmes running, even though i have only just turned the laptop on and have started nothing. i understand that some stuff runs in the background when you turn a laptop on. i get an error code hrOx80070643. does anyone have any idea how i can overcome this? my boys use msn chat when here and i also use it, but every toime i try to open it i get the instal new msn opopping up and it fails to instal. any help welcome, thanks sg |

Can you still get a list of things running on your system if you do 'CTRL-ALT-DEL'? You can go down the list and turn off anything that looks like it might be MSN? |

have uninstalled any and all msn messenger titled programmes, still no joy.
keep getting the same error code, so i shall go see a sopecialist ion monday. thanks for the idea chez. sg |

I think that MSN uses a *lot* of processing power. You could temporarily swap to something else, just to get online - like pidgin which seems to be a bit lighter.
