Mushroom id

So - I think they are willow shields, and therefore edible? Any comments before I poison us all? Spore print is white, and sort of elliptical.

It 's the ones at the bottom on this picture.

bingo

I would just say don't eat them.

There are probably under 15 mushrooms I would eat or give to my kids, after the ones I am 100% sure of........ forget it.

This is a good way of mushroom ID though, "Would you feed it to your kids?"

There are some mushrooms i would risk on myself.......the Miller being on of them, but............ Surprised

Agree with Bingo...it's sort of beige and nondescript...prob a no no, not worth risking. Hopefully lots of other good stuff about though?

Willow shield? (goes looks in Phillips, puts Phillips down, picks up new edition, sees that you mean Pluteus salicinus and that someone has given it a common name all of a sudden!).

Gills look too thick and robust. The spore print of Pluteus is pink. The gills ought to have a tint of pink or creamy pink about them too.

Doesn't look like a Pluteus, considering white print.

So... Dunno, need to ponder this one.

Yes - I did mean that Cab , and you are quite right, it does say the spores should be pink. I'll leave it then (still be nice to know what it is though)

Is the stem fibrous/tough/hollow?
