mysql upgradeI am getting more pursauded to make the change from mysql 3.x to 4.x on the server.
Some time in the next week it will upgrade one of my mirror systems as a dry run, followed by the other. The aim will be to switch on the server in a couple of weeks.
If anyone has any experience of this upgrade, their input we be most welcome.

Looking on the web I see quite a few issues with inter-dependencies between mysql4 and the "Plesk" software the server runs with.
Since I decided to pay rather more for the servers to get additional technical support. it makes sense to me to wait a little while longer as I have been getting their advice this week already, and then use them for the upgrade.
Since Plesk is bog standard on servers for them, it should be reasonable to assume that on this upgrade they will have done it a dozen times before.
