New Article: Foraging in AprilMerry April!
New article for foraging this month to be found here:

If you've read that, you'll know that I'm always really excited by foraging in April. It's a great month.
Happy hunting,
Cab.

Well, happy feast month to you, then!
Can you tell us what's the scientific name for ladies fingers? I can only find pictures of okra on Google...

Geek.
Nettle tops are my no1 for this month. Very green and tasty. Make the most of them before they get tough.

I have a great crop of young dandelion leaves in the garden which are looking extremely inviting.
I love April too, it's the best part of the year for me and not just because it's my birthday this month

Got some nice sorrel yesterday. The wild garlic's getting a bit past it, though still good in the cooler/shadier ares.

The wild garlic is getting past it? That's interesting, the stuff I've seen is just getting into its prime. I presume you like it best young and tender? (the garlic, that is). Rather than older and more potent? (still the garlic, before you ask).

Are you qualified?
I'll be Jim Dale; being stupid and falling over things are endearing character traits of mine.

Went out this morning with Cabs article in hand, turned out to be a failure as a forage and even the mushroom pics I did take came out blurred but here are a couple of nice images.

Looks like plenty to eat out there to me, Jema
What kind of tree is that?

My nature knowledge is appalling, I can't even answer that I am really hoping that over this year it will improve.

See, we definitely need a 'Cab leads the troops into foraging day'
