new chicks

hi ,woke up yesterday and my first batch of eggs have hatched we have kept a close eye on them and they havent seen them come of the nest or the mother to feed will they be ok and shall i leave them alone or will they die if they dont eat soon, thanks.

Congratulations on the new chicks.
Leave them well alone for now. Before the chicks hatch, they absorb the last of the yolk into their stomachs, which gives them enough food for at least 24 hours. The mother will be waiting to see if any more eggs hatch, so if you take the hatched chicks away, you may distract her. Just put some chick crumbs and water out for them, and they will get to it in their own time. (Watching Mum show the chicks how to eat and drink is a pleasure not to be missed IMO).
