Got a garden, and want to start growing own veg.
Never had a garden in UK.
Any advice welcomed.

There's plenty of articles in this section that should be useful: http://www.downsizer.net/Projects/Growing_food/
As it's such a huge topic it might be better to start asking some questions if you have any.

Also the vast amount of info here is very UK climate based.
Ian33568 is a good person to quiz.
& a few members from the south of France will have a similar climate.
My advice would be look at what your neighbours are growing & when & follow suit.
Good luck.

First of all find out what sort of soil you have, texture eg sandy or clay and pH. Everything else will depend on that.
Good luck - it is a wonderful subject.

And one more thing that is worth doing.
If the plants are unfamiliar to you, try buying in shop/from neighbours to have a taste before you spend lots of time and effort on growing them!
