New hedge.......any ideas what it is called? We have just finished a new hedge - saw it once at a country park but no idea what this type of hedge is called - 3m x 3m just to act as an enclosure for the compost etc. Really pleased with it and plan to grow honeysuckle etc over it.

No - but it is really nice. Presumably you can add to it as it breaks down.

I'd call it a brushwood fence rather than a hedge since it is dead and not alive. I agree, it looks really nice and will look even better with honeysuckle. Or how about some Flame Flower (tropaeolum speciosum)? They're a personal favourite of mine.

I'd call it a brush fence too - similar to to those you find on cross country courses and racecourses.

If you want to cover it quick try clematis montana. It's a beauty and grows enormous.

Thanks for the planting suggestions - hope to keep adding to it but suspect it will only last 3-5years.
