New hens neededI could do with 2-4 new birds, either POL or biggish chicks to supplement my flock. IK'd like girls that I could use to raise table birds for us.
Anyone got any to sell/swap? (preferably near here!)

we will be going to that chicken place near Woodsprites soon won't we? maybe you can get some whilst we are there.

Oooh: LS? Light Sussex? I like your Light Sussexs...
My other option, as pointed out by Pookie, is hatching eggs, but, unlike some people here, I don't have a nice new incubator from Ascott's...

you would have to wait much longer for them to be ready to breed if you hatched some now though, it would be next year. Sounds a good idea to get some from Judith.

(It's all your fault - I didn't know where Ascott's was until you dragged me there).
As for chicks, I have three almost-certainly-pullets that are Light Sussex with a hint of something else. Fully feathered - about 2 months old. Terms negotiable, but would ideally involve loan of a peg loom and carders.

You should have spoken earlier, I quite literally gave away three POL Old English Game hens last night that had failed to come upto my exacting standards for the show ring.
They were perfectly healthy but not quite the right shape or colour for me. They make fantastic broodies and excellent mothers.
All is not lost however and there will be some more available shortly, I also have 30 to 40 of this years youngsters that will have to go through a selection process as well.
Hang fire a bit and I'll have some for you shortly and who knows, you maybe able to save me from having a divorce. The more chickens you take, the more friendly kaz will be to you and to me.
The ones that went last night looked like these.
PM if these sort of birds are what you want.
