NewsgroupsMy dad is an active member of some usenet newsgroups, but his ISP no longer subscribes to the news-server so he cannot get them any more.I'm sure there is an easy workaround, but I haven't used newsgroups for years now, so it is foreign territory to me. |

"Free" usenet servers becoming as rare as hens teeth ...
This any good? http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Usenet/Public_News_Servers/ Can't imagine anyone still using a dinosaur like that, so perhaps best bet would be to set up a decent, modern, alternative and your Dad can be admin and send one last message via Usenet inviting them all over to his new gaff 
Plenty of forum software out there, but my favourite is XenForo. Superb features for message posters, whether numpties or experts. |
