Nice avatars ?Can anyone point me in the right direction?I'd like an avatar, but can't find any I like - don't want movie star, cartoon, or strange Japapnese manga face 
I like the photos some people have of flowers etc |

mine is a photo we took and I've just shrunk it. Have you a digital photo you like that can be re-sized? | ||

use a search engine like Google image search
to find a copyright free image you like then you need to crop and/or resize the image so it is no greater than 120 pixels wide or high and no greater than 13kb in size a program like gimp should be able to manage something like that or alternatively post the img or the link to the img here and someone helpful will probably come along once you have your image of a suitable size you will need to go to your profile page and upload it |

What's wrong with frogs?
Anyway, something like ifranview can be downloaded free and used from www.irfanview.com , there are some useful hints and tips here: http://forum.downsizer.net/viewtopic.php?t=1570 If you have any problems then you can PM me a picture and I'll resize it and PM you back tonight. |

I just about remember those thrupenny bits too. It'll probably take me a while but I'm definitely going to go with the thrift flower, thanks so much for finding the pics.I did look on Google images but didin't have a clear idea what I wanted. Thanks again

mine's a cunning plan
i used publisher to work up a 3mg photo into a split graded and layered image then resized it with irfan i change mine depending on whim and whats going on (and to show me arty snaps
