Normality returns, an NTL rant!After a couple of halfway decetn experiences with NTL, which shook my faith in the nature of the universe  
I have an NTL engineer booked for tomorrow morning after 30 mins argument with an infuriating NTL support drone.
< "If it's working now, we can't book an engineer"
> "Well I tried calling at 2am when it last wasn't and you were closed"
< "We don't support Linux"
> "Its the connection that is the problem not the computer"
< "You should be getting good speeds at that time"
> "The connection is not poor, it has dropped"
< "The signal strength is okay now"
> "Yes I know, but it doesn't stay that way"
< "If an engineer comes out and its working you'll be charged"
> "When an engineer comes round it probably will be working, the issue is that the signal is erratic, mostly it is working"
And so on round in endless circles until I demanded to speak to a supervisor.
What is really really annoying is that the engineer was out yesterday on the basis of me reporting the signal strength is erratic.

I cancelled sky Sports as there's nothing on over the summer apart from 'field standing about in' and they decided to turn off everything. A two year old without Cbeebies is a tragic thing to behold.

Go buy a freeview box for 30quid. For the price of one months sky rental you'll get your life back.

I phoned customer services and held phone next to bawling infant,
"I, wwwwwwwwan Cbbbbbbbeeeebbbbieess Whaaaa"
did the trick."
My TV consumption seems to have gone to an hour at 10 to 11pm so I might just do that.

I refuse to pay for sky sports. He gets enough money off me anyway thanks very much. I am sooo missing watching the "standing around in a field" that you speak of. Cricket should be on the BBC. End of.
