Numpty question about metatagsFor standard webpages are keywords and metatags always used to assist in indexing your site for web search engines? Don't want to sound too thick when I have a meeting about a new website
Thanks

Why's that Jema?...how do the search engines index without these? do they recognise key words automatically?

So many rogues used to just pack sites with meta tags to try and get ratings, the system became meaningless. Search engines now look for actual content and people linking to the site. e.g. more solid evidence that the site is good.
meta tags may sill count a little, but good content and links is where to put your efforts.

Thanks for that....it's a few years since I was actively involved and my scant knowledge base has become almost obsolete!
