And here's Gervase's latest restoration project...

...which he's about to start working on. Courtesy of a student of mine who's selling the family farm about half an hour away from us and needed to get rid of this...

Yes, that is my foot you can see through the passenger foot well... Rolling Eyes

Looks like a late model IIA with overdrive, nice.

I've a hankering for a ser III 88 with full canvas myself.
Jamanda

Laughing We will await progress reports.

We've a great big door mouldering gently at the bottom of the garden which Sean rescued from a skip with Gervase in mind Laughing

About the same time that Gervase divorces me I think.

Hmm, well I'd have held out for one or the other before allowing a dead landy onto the premises... Laughing
Or is it going to be yours once resurrected? Cool
Mary-Jane

Well, I've gone off the idea of goats. I really only want goats' milk to have a go at goats' cheese which I can get from any number of suppliers around here.

Still after the ducks though, but am awaiting my moment... Cool

And although I enjoy driving Landies, I wouldn't want one as my permanent vehicle.

Mini VSS has been doing a roaring trade this weekend in ducks. They are particulaly good looking ones too.

This it how it works in our house - wish-lists are traded. For quite a while, totally unecessary car parts were measured in fractions of green-houses. Then spinning wheels (incidentally, for some fancy car wheels!) The yarn stash is comparable with pub spending. If I get desperate, I have to include power-tools (he uses work as an excuse for these) If he doesn't give up smoking soon, I shall start using that as a very good argument to give up some hours at work!

We have now reached stalemate - I won't let him have puppies and he won't let me have chickens, due to not having time to deal with them, just at the moment. Not sure where ducks fit into this argument. Probably half a dozen ducks equals a puppy (I could use body weight!)

So Gervase, how many ducks can you fit in a landrover!? Wink

There are very nice looking ducks. Shame we're not going to be there today but we've been called into work Sad
Mary-Jane

Well, it's started. I came back from one of the neighbouring farms yesterday, to find a pair of legs sticking out from under the 'new' Landie and a voice muttering "This chasse really is in good nick you know...I'm certain I can do something with this..."

By yesterday lunchtime he'd taken off the old, split tyres and replaced them with some decent ones and had the bonnet up, peering inside, spanner in hand. He then gave me a detailed guided tour of the engine...which was fascinating. Rolling Eyes

Several people nearly brought ducks for you from VSS's... I wasn't one because I already had a Landrover full of livestock (2 weaners, 2 ducks and the old chap).

I don't think this thread is following MJ's intended path. Wink

If someone says to you 'nice chasse' they're either complimenting your dancing technique or your figure.

I'm sure ducks are easy to aquire where you are but Tim and Dot's (VSS) son Iestyn has some absolutely irresistible Muscovy ducklings (lavender and white) at the moment.

Ahhh, didn't see Mochyn's post above.

my brother renovates land rovers and these pictures bring back fond memories (driving around Shropshire with no floor, being splashed every time you go through a puddle).

He was recently given an old Discovery that had been a chicken shed on a farm near Welshpool. He totally stripped the inside and rebuild the back half from scratch and now has a great family car.

It does look like its got a good chassis.

Best of luck to Gervase.

Will he still be using a lime mix, or will it be more like the cow shit up a chimney mix for the holes. I suppose if its the latter the landy will blend in with the landscape a bit better.
