which glue for mending china ?The knob on the lid of my teapot has come off, and I'd like to glue it back on to carry on using it. I used Superglue last time, but it didn't last long and the knob came off again.
However, which glue is heat/steam-proof, and OK for use on china used for food/drink ?
ISTR the label on Superglue saying it's not for use on food-related items.
It wouldn't be an issue, but the knob has a small hole/cavity inside in the middle that goes all the way through the lid, so it is potentially in contact with the steam from the tea.
Or am I just being precious ?
Any suggestions which glue to use ?
If it also stuck wood to wood, and metal to semi-precious stones, that would be a bonus [other completely different repair tasks]

If you cant glue it back on could you bodge a repair using a bit of wire and some kind of stay at each end?
I don't know of any appropriate glues, but as you've already glued it once it might be hard to get a good key between the two surfaces anyway...

I think epoxy is a lot like china/porcelain, and should bond well and stay bonded.
