Not picking shrooms......isn't it hard sometimes? Just got back home early this evening, having cycled past goodness knows how many field blewits. And I don't need them, I don't need any more, but they're just there, staring at me as I ride past.

It is hard i agree. Sometimes I pick them and wish i hadn't as another afternoon of processing stretches ahead!

Right I've spoken to higher authority ,A. Outen and the Mycological Society and they say that the jury is still out on cut or pull with Alan saying he thinks damage may be caused to the mycelium if cut maybe contamination from knife etc.So I listen to them and thats it , finito!!!

Actually Blewits make an excellent duxelle.
Mind you, it's rain, hail, thunder and lightening down here. So much so that it's dangerous to go out. I did and after 3 hours I'm still wet!

See, I'd make more duxelle, but the freezer is full of ducks, hare, and summer berries and veg. And the shroom cupboard is all stocked up, don't need more dried ones.
And there they are, all these blewits, just staring at me when I pass them.
