Oil from stones? How do you like, extract oil from stuff? Like from apricot kernels - because if you just mush up an apricot stone, you don't get oil splurging out, so how do they make apricot kernel oil?

I think the kernels are ground up really really fine, then pressed under a very heavy pressure. Some are probably washed out with water as well, but I'm fairly sure the high quality stuff is just pressed from very finely ground up kernels.

Would you be able to make it if you had essential oil extracting clobber? Whatever that is.
What do you need for that kind of excercise?

I think essential oils are gained from distilation, but I could be wrong.

When you said oil from stones I thought of Kimmeridge shale and wondered what oily rocks you have in Yorkshire and why you are mad enough to want to try your own extraction process .
IIRC Maxwell Smart knows about essential oils...

cold or hot press
steam distillation/seperation
solvent extraction ,hot or cold /evaporation
hot distillation
for food oils cold pressed is best
to make it worthwhile one needs a fair amount of material to work with
