Ok techno-greens what do you think of this one?http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=salt-power-energy&ec=su_saltpower
I think it seems quite clever. Be interesting to see how the prototype works out.

Countries with a sea coastline have massive potential energy in the form of tidal power. And we know exactly when and how tidal power moves. I'm gobsmacked that we are doing almost sod all with this massive potential energy source.

Here in the land of the worlds largest tides, something is being done, and turbines built in Scotland are being tested. The only problem with them is the effect they have on Fish, but they are working on that.

Sound good. Hope its viable & "allowed" to make it in to the main stream.

water that moves is the best imho

Sounds clever but not half as practical as most established means of sustainable energy.
Or other means like wave power, that really ought to be established.

strikes me you could make a clever turbine / osmosis battery combo that would win you extra power from a site you'd already had.
