The daughter keeps using my computer to watch Youtube or whatever and she tends to not switch it off properly with the result that when I come to use it, it still has youtube playing.
Is there an easier/better way to stop it than to log into her account and switch it off?

That is what I would expect, but apparently not: it seems to go to sleep leaving youtube ready to continue as soon as it wakes up again.
