Out of Date?I've just found something called Ice Breaker, alcoholic freezer strawberry daiquiri. Use by date December 1996. Must I throw them away?

Yes.
On the grounds of good taste.

Pah! It promises that I can experience refreshment like I've never had it before...

Ah, what they meant is you can experience refreshment AS IF you'd never had it before, and really wouldn't know good refreshment from utter carp.
But they didn't have room on the label.

I note that it doesn't actually say that it tastes nice, though!

Go on, drink it. How bad can it be?

I'd probably give it a try before chucking it
Not sure what that says about me...

Just a quick note, 13 years out of date just how big is you freezer and were they from the bottom or is there still more down there, I think Martin wanted to try mammoth Jerky if theres a baby one trapped at the bottom!!
and I would try them to, just in case they were good, well waste not want not

It's not frozen, yet. Jusgt on my way to put them in the freezer. Well why not, I don't really want to go to that meeting tomorrow.

You will probably survive.
Then you may not
Seriously, I would not risk my internal health on something 13 years out of date.
Just thinking about it makes me sick
Do you have a cat you can try it on?

Do you not like cats Mihto?

Yes I do
I'm a cat person.
Whatever the "thing" contains, as long as there is an alcoholic component, the cat will start salivating horribly, move in rather unusual ways and generally make everybody who watches very uneasy indeed.
The cat will not be harmed, but the out of date "thing" will certainly land in the bucket.
The suggestion was made because the "thing" should land in the bucket in the first place

I dunno, I remember eating Army tinned steak that had been put in the cans before I was born. Pretty nice, it was, too.
Mind you, there was no 'best before' date on the cans, and they'd probably been nuked to kill off any nasties.

No no, don't do it! I once drank out of date apple schnapps. It resulted in a lot of this :-

I'd try it.

Is it likely to have gone off in any way?
I reckon you should try it.
It might be really nice!
On the other hand, I can't help wondering how it managed to be left for 13 years unless you original had more but it was so foul you blocked all knowledge of it from your conscious memory.

I'd just chuck it rather than drinking it, then chucking it...

Why was it ever considered to be IN date?

I was 13 years old when that first went out of date. I probably wouldn't risk it, but that morbid curiosity is sometimes hard to resist.

Sound thinking. She probably has other things to do, but who knows?

My dear, some things get better with age. Whatever the out of date of single malt is supposed to be, I do not think that any of us will find a too old version of that drink coming our way
